Joe Belfatto, Managing Partner at Massey Quick had the pleasure of speaking at the IvyPlus Family Office Network’s Family Office Workshop. The event included panel discussions on a cross-section of family business relevant topics. Mr. Belfatto participated in a panel on portfolio allocations. This panel reflected on asset allocation and portfolio allocations during 2015 and highlighted areas of the markets that performed well and areas that underperformed. The panel also discussed their outlook for 2016 and opportunities for generating alpha across markets and sectors.

Stewart Massey, Managing Partner & Chief Investment Strategist, appeared at Wilson ConferencesTM Family Office CIO Summit. As a panelist on The CIO Resource Toolkit: Strategies, Best Practices & Tools for the Resource Constrained Family Office, Mr. Massey spoke to an audience of single and multi-family office CIOs and portfolio managers. The group addressed topics that included how to avoid costly mistakes, how family offices and institutional investors should form investment committees, and tax efficient investing. Looking forward, the group discussed engaging the next generation of clients through education programs and the continued trend of single family offices into multi-family offices.

Leslie Quick, Managing Partner at Massey Quick, presented to a group of family office investors at the Wealth Management Insights Summit in Ponte Vedre Beach, Florida. The Wealth Management Insights Summit is an annual capital introduction conference produced specifically for select family office investors and alternative investment managers. Mr. Quick led a closed door session on due diligence where family office investors shared observations and opinions about the alternative strategy managers they met with during the conference.

Chris discussed benchmarking with his fellow panelists and shared his views on how to choose the most appropriate benchmark in a client's portfolio. Chris shared with the group Massey Quick's approach of assigning two benchmarks and then aiming to beat benchmarks over the course of a market cycle.

The workshop, held in NYC, focused on helping women struggling with the financial implications of divorce and was widely received by the participants. Topics covered include budgeting, the search for the right Financial Advisor, credit score, college and retirement planning, and practical advice for regaining control & achieving a personal balance. Stewart Massey spoke at Opal's Family Office Forum West in Napa, California. In a presentation entitled "Choosing a Consultant or Advisor for a Family Office," Stewart discussed Massey Quick's approach of serving as an extension of the chief investment officer, chief financial officer and chief operating officer of single family offices. "Our primary task is to add bandwidth to family office professionals in areas including manager sourcing, manager research and due diligence and performance reporting. The depth and breadth of our team and technology can deliver best in class resources to single family offices as an alternative to SFOs building out larger organizations."
